Cory Riecks was named a Pacific women’s volleyball coaching staff member in May of 2018 as an assistant with the Tigers' indoor team.

Riecks joined Pacific following a five-year stint as the assistant coach for the Northern California Volleyball Club (NCVC) in Sacramento, Calif. He helped the club to three consecutive 17-win seasons as well as three-straight USAV Jr. National Open Division appearances.

The Northern California native began his volleyball career at Pepperdine University, where he was a four-year starter for the Waves from 2008-2011. During his debut season, Riecks started in all 28 matches, helping his team to a first-place finish and conference championship in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). He won MPSF All-Freshman honors and went on Rieks to earn AVCA All-American and All-MPSF as a junior in 2010.

He concluded his collegiate career ranked 13th all-time in Pepperdine history with 1,143 kills. He also held single-match, career-highs of 17 kills and eight digs.

Following his time with the Waves, Riecks began his professional career with the Ingersoll Bühl club team in Bühl, Germany. He played seasons with the Bisons, finishing third overall in the 1st Bundesliga League. Riecks then went on to play for the Raison Loimu Club (Raiso, Finland) before settling with VK Ostrava in the Czech Republic during the 2014-15 season. That season, Riecks helped his team to the Czech Pokal Cup Championships where he earned Tournament MVP honors. Riecks spent the next season in Teruel, Spain, where he helped CV Teruel to a runner-up finish in the 2016 Superlinga and second place in the Copa del Rey Tournament. That same year, the CV Teruel team became the first in club history to advance to the Challenge Round of the CEV Cup (Confédération Européenne de Volleyball).

Riecks finished out his professional career with the Caribes de San Sebastian Club (San Sebastian, Puerto Rico) where his team finished second in the 2017 LVSM (Liga de Voleibol Superior Masculino) 1st League. Riecks was named to the 2017 LVSM All-Star team that season.

Riecks graduated from Pepperdine with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and received his Master’s degree in coaching and sport psychology through the University of Missouri.
