Biography
2012-13 (Freshman):
Coming up with his fastest career time at the MPSF Championships, Gabe set a personal best in the 200 Free as he clocked in at 1:42.84. He followed with another top performance in the 500 Free as he touched with a time of 4:36.59. Academically, Gabe earned Academic All-MPSF honors in the first season in which he was eligible.
2012-13 (Freshman):
Johnson added depth to Pacific''s mid-distance and distance freestyle groups in his first season at Pacific. At the Pacific Invite, he took seventh in the 1650 Free (17:07.32), 13th in the 200 Free (1:47.65) and 15th in the 500 Free (4:53.80). The UNLV Winter Invite saw Jones place 12th in the 1650 Free (17:10.91), 13th in the 200 Free (1:46.18) and 14th in the 500 Free (4:48.79).
High School:
Jones graduated from Clovis West High School in Fresno, where he earned four varsity letters in swimming for the Golden Eagles. He finished his high school career with top times of 1:43.3 in the 200 Free, 4:35.4 in the 500 Free and 9:41.1 in the 1000 Free. Jones also helped his team to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 CIF Championships.
Personal:
Jones was born in Clovis and is the son of Mary Jones. He has four siblings, Nathan, Rachael, Zach and Daniel. Jones will pursue a degree in biochemistry with the desire of working as a dentist or in the medical field. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and football, playing NBA2K12, and browsing YouTube.
