Biography

2016-7 (Senior):
As a senior, Byers swam a 2:14.77 in the 200 Breast.  He also put up a 1:01.48 in the 100 Breast, with both those times coming in the MPSF Championships.  Byers also swam the 50 Breast against Stanford, putting up a 29.18.

2015-16 (Junior):
Byers primarily swam the Breast events for the Tigers this year.  He swam a 1:00.40 in the 100 Breast to finish with the team''s fifth-best time.  He was fourth in the 200 Breast with a 2:14.11.  In the 400 IM, Byers swam a 4:34.86 to finish the year with Pacific''s third-best time.  Byers was on the MPSF All-Academic Team.

2014-15 (Sophomore):
After a strong freshman season, Byers continued to perform well for the Tigers.  He set a new personal best in the 100 Back at 53.99 and the 200 Back at 1:58.62.  That 200 Back time was the third-best recorded by a Tiger last season.  Byers also was honored with a selection to the MPSF All-Academic team.

2013-14 (Freshman):
Byers quickly established himself as one of the top all-around swimmers for the Tigers as he competed in all four styles throughout the year with his main focus coming in the Back, Breast, and IM at the MPSF Championships. In addition to the championships, Neil''s best performances came at the Arean Invitational where he posted his top times in the 100 Back (54.72), 200 Back (2:01.48), and 200 IM (2:01.09).

High School/Club:
A graduate of Bellermine Preparatory School in Tacoma, Wash., Neil was a member of the King Aquatic Swim Club as his high school did not offer swimming. 

Personal:
Neil Byers was born in Puyallup, Wash., and is the son of Kathleen and Scott Byers. He has two older siblings, Kristen and Kevin. Kevin was a standout swimmer for the Tigers from 2008-12 while Kristen swam at UCLA from 2006-10. He is pursuing a degree in business administration.
