2013-14 (Junior:
Chandler who grabbed first-team all-conference honors as a junior in the 1650 Free with a time of 15:29.61 to finish second in the event in the MPSF Championships. The time not only was Chandler''s and the team''s fastest time in the race for the season, it was also fast enough to qualify the third-year swimmer with an NCAA "B" cut time. He earned second team honors in the 500 Free to show off his versatility as he posted the team''s best time in the event for the season at 4:27.95. For the year, Brandon posted the top time on the year in three different events as he also led the way in the 1000 Free, clocking in at 9:30.46 at the Arena Invitational. At the end of the year, Chandler earned his second academic all-conference award.
2012-13 (Sophomore):
In his second year at Pacific, Chandler recorded three top-24 finishes at the 2013 MPSF Championships, taking 16th in the 1650 Free (15:55.60), 18th in the 400 IM (4:04.00) and 21st in the 500 Free (4:33.34). The UNLV Winter Invite saw him place fifth in both the 1650 Free (16:28.72) and the 400 IM (4:13.56), while his mark of 4:39.01 in the 500 Free was good for ninth. Academically, Chandler earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
2011-12 (Freshman):
Chandler quickly became one of the MPSF’s top distance freestylers in his first year at Pacific, earning First Team All-MPSF honors in the 1650 Free after a runner-up finish at the conference championship meet that resulted in an NCAA “B” Cut time. Primarily competing in the 1000 Free and 1650 Free, he collected a pair of event titles in the regular season, winning the 1650 Free at the Pacific Invite and the 1000 Free against CSU Bakersfield. He added two second-place finishes and a pair of third-place finishes. At the 2012 MPSF Championships, Chandler swam a season-best time in the 1650 Free, clocking in at 15:27.09 to finish second and earn an NCAA qualification mark in the process. The time ranked second among all MPSF swimmers. He also posted the best 1000 Free time of any Tiger on the year with a time of 9:33.63 which ranked seventh among all MPSF swimmers.
High School:
Chandler prepped at Granada High School in Livermore, Calif., where he earned four letters in swimming. He was his team’s MVP as a senior, and was an All-America and All-League selection. Chandler holds the East Bay Athletic League record in the 200 IM. Academically, he was on the Principal’s Honor Roll and is a Lifetime Member of the California Scholarship Federation.
Personal:
Chandler was born in San Ramon, Calif., and is the son of Bob and Missy Chandler. He enjoys playing sports, watching ESPN, and playing video games. Chandler is majoring in sports management.
