2018 (Senior):
A WCC-First Team selection, Lahners earned her third All-Conference selection and second WCC-First-Team selection after a stellar senior campaign. The senior first baseman posted career numbers her final year with 10 home runs, 44 RBI, and held a batting average of .358 in 47 games for the Tigers this season.
The Laguna Hills, Calif. native finished second in conference doubles (12) and total bases (90) acting as the Tigers'' go-to hitter in cunrch0time situations. Improving her strikeout total to a career-low 18 K''s, Lahners'' on-base percentage (.451) was one of the highest in the nation and within in the top-3 in the WCC. Her 25 walks were most on the team, kicking off the year with four straight bases-on-balls in Pacific''s season-opener against Weber State (Feb. 9). Recorded her first homer of the year with a solo shot versus Grand Canyon (Feb. 10). Held a four-game hitting streak during the Bulldog Classic (Feb. 16-18) tallying 10 hits, four home runs, and 11 RBI. Went yard twice against UC Davis (Feb. 16) to help Pacific rally to a 9-6 victory. Matched her season-high four RBI performance against the Aggies on two more occasions versus Providence (March 4) and in the Tigers'' season-finale against Saint Mary''s (May 6). Finished out the year on a five game hitting streak.
Lahners wraps up her time as a Tiger with 43 career multi-hit games and a career fielding percentage above .975. Her home runs (27), batting average (.321), walks (95), RBI''s (129), on base percentage (.418) ranks all in the top-ten in Pacific softball history.
2017 (Junior):
Was named to the WCC All-Preseason team prior to her third season. Was the only Tiger to appear in all 54 games and was second on the team in batting average with a .313 mark. Paced the squad with 38 RBIs and 50 hits to go with 25 walks as well as 15 multi hit games, and ranked second on the team in home runs with seven. Hit her first home run of the year in the first game of the season against Utah State (Feb. 10). Knocked in three runs in the 6-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 12) and had another three RBI performance against East Carolina (Mar. 4). Reached base in ten straight contests form Mar. 21 to Apr. 8. Went a perfect 3-for-3 in the 14-5 win over Dartmouth (Mar. 25). Went 2-for-3 at the plate against UC Santa Barbara (May 17) in the NISC Postseason, giving the junior her team-leading 15th multiple hit game. Following the season, Lahners was named to the All-WCC First Team for her stellar junior season.
2016 (Sophomore):
Lahners batted a dominating .320 in her second season as a Tiger, which was the third highest on the team. The sophomore smacked ten doubles and six homeruns on the year and registered 26 RBI''s. The first baseman logged a team-high 385 putouts and had a .992 fielding mark. Against WCC-foes, Lahners batted a team-high .340 with nine RBIs. The Laguna Hills, Calif. native logged nine multi-hit games for the Tigers. Against Santa Clara (Apr 10), Lahners went 2-for-4 at the plate with two home runs and three RBIs. In the final game against Saint Mary''s (Apr 17), Lahners went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a run scored. Following the season Lahners was named to the All-WCC Second Team.
2015 (Freshman):
Lahners was a stalwart in the Pacific lineup and infield as a freshman, starting 53 of 55 contests for the Tigers, with the majority of that time at first base. Lahners hit .221 with 30 hits, 21 RBI and four homers on the season. Showing great plate discipline, she walked a team-high 22 times including two games with three walks each (March 21 vs. UConn and March 31 vs. Stanford). Lahners recorded four multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games, including early season contests with Fordham (Feb 7), Montana (March 1) and No. 2 Oregon (March 7). Conference highlights included a homer against San Diego (April 4) and a homer plus a two-RBI performance in a win over Santa Clara on April 26th.
High School:
Joining the Tigers'' in 2015 as a first baseman, Lahners was named a candidate for CIF All-State by CalHiSports.com following her 2014 season. Sydney was also named to the Orange County All-Star squad that took on All-Stars from Riverside County following the season. Prior to the season, Sydney was named a Player to Watch by OCVarsity.com. Lahners led the Laguna Hills Hawks with a .471 batting average and 31 RBI during the 2013 campaign. She was named All-League in the South Coast League in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and was named First Team All-Orange County by OCVarsity.com in 2013. Lahners was named the 39th overall senior softball player in the country by StudentSports.com
Personal:
Sydney''s older sister, Kylee, was an NFCA All-American at Washington before being drafted by the Dallas Charge of the NPF with the 10th overall pick. Sydney is majoring in mathematics.
