Moreno enters his fourth season as the Softball Director of Operations in 2020-21. The Bay Area native has played an integral role in the softball community, co-founding the highly successful All-American Sports Academy travel ball organization in 2005. 

During his 13-year stint with AASA and competitive softball, he served as a regional director for the Premier Girls Fastpitch. Additionally, Moreno was on staff for the AASA 18G Merrida team that enjoyed multiple back-to-back top five PGF finishes along with a championship at the prestigious IDT event in Boulder, Colorado.  The AASA Organization is also proud of the success of their players which include Bubba Nickles and Ali Aguilar, who were just recently selected to the 2020 USA Olympic Softball Team.

Moreno also had a 34-year career the City of Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. He spent 20 years with the department’s hostage negotiation unit. He retired as Lieutenant in 2011.

Mario and his wife Christina reside in Tracy, California. They have five children: Chris, Lauren, Nikki, Sammie and Morgan, along with a grandson Mitchell and another grandchild on the way this June of 2020.
