University of the Pacific

2014 (Freshman):
Huey saw time in 17 contests for the Tigers, mainly as a pinch runner, with two at-bats. She scored her first career run against Stanford on Feb. 16 and scored four runs in total on the season. Melina played the outfield for the first time in her career on April 2 against California.

High School:
Huey comes to the Tigers from Castro Valley High School, where the Trojans compiled a 65-32-2 record in her four years as a member of the softball team. A four year varsity letterwinner with the team, Huey was first team All-WAAC in 2013, to go along with second team All-Conference selections in 2010-2012. 

Personal: 
Melina is the daugher of Donald and Marissa Huey. Her younger sister Lelani (15), plays Softball for Castro Valley High. When she is not playing softball, she enjoys baking, shopping, watching television and playing with her dogs. She was a Scholar Athlete all four years at Castro Valley High School. In her second year at Pacific, Melina is a biochemistry major with plans to get into the research or engineering fields.
