The 2023-24 season is the eighth year on the Tiger staff for Tory Yamaguchi, who joined Pacific for the 2016-17 season. She primarily focuses on hitters, pitchers and catchers. Several pitchers earned All-WCC honors in her tenure, including Myka Sutherlin, who was a first-team choice in 2021 after a 6-2 season with a 1.88 ERA. Senior catcher Madeline Domingo was an honorable mention choice in the same season. Pitcher Marissa Young earned Second-Team All-WCC honors in 2017 and 2018.

Prior to Pacific, Yamaguchi spent the last three seasons in the dugout at Portland State. She guided multiple all-conference athletes for the Vikings.

Prior to Portland State, Yamaguchi was the pitching coach at UConn for three seasons where she helped lower the Huskies' ERA by nearly a full-point while improving the team's strikeout-to-walk ratio. She has also spent two seasons as an assistant at Indiana, her alma mater.

On the field for the Hoosiers, Yamaguchi was a four-time letterwinner as a catcher and graduated in 2007 as one of the program's best hitters. She set the Indiana caraeer home record with 40 round trippers, a record that still stands entering the 2023 season. She earned All-Big Ten honors and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team all four years.

After college, Yamaguchi was drafted by the Philadelphia Force and played in the National Pro Fastpitch League in 2008 and 2009.

Yamaguchi graduated from Indiana with a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2007 and added a master's degree in Kinesiology in 2009.
