2014 (RS Senior):
Hughes played in 12 games, starting seven. Averaged 8.0 saves per four quarters in 37.5 quarters played on the season. Totaled 75 saves on the year, including three games with 10 or more saves. Denied a career-best 16 shots against #2 Southern California on Oct. 25. Turned away 11 shots in a win over #10 UC Davis (Sept. 14), added 10 saves in a win over Cal Lutheran (Sept. 27). Finished his career with 128 saves. Named to both the MPSF and ACWPC All-Academic teams.
2013 (RS Junior):
Hughes saw action in over 10 quarters of action. Recorded an average of 9.90 saves per four quarters, and posted a goals against average of 6.10. He registered three saves in his first appearance, against Brown in the fourth quarter. Added seven saves in a start against Pepperdine in the NorCal tournament. Came off the bench for six saves in a win over Santa Clara and eight off the bench against Bucknell. Tallied a save off the bench against both Pepperdine, and UC Irvine (in the MPSF Tournament).
2012 (RS Sophomore):
Hughes spent the 2012 season as Pacific''s second-string goalkeeper, seeing time in five games for the Tigers. He set a career high with seven saves in Pacific''s win over Claremont-M-S before tying that mark against La Verne, both at the Aggie Shootout at UC Davis. Hughes finished the year with 25 saves, good for an average of five blocks per game.
2011 (RS Freshman):
Serving as the Tigers'' third-string goalie, Hughes blocked two shots in Pacific''s 10-5 win over then-No. 10 UC Davis on Oct. 7, helping hold the Aggies to their lowest point total of the season.
2010 (Freshman):
Hughes redshirt his first season at Pacific.
High School:
Hughes graduated from Washington High School in Fremont, Calif., where he earned two letters in water polo. During the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Hughes was named the team defensive MVP while earning first team all-league honors.
Personal:
Hughes is the son of Paul and Jeanine Hughes, and has one younger sister, Alexa. During his free time, he enjoys photography and playing soccer and ultimate frisbee. In his fifth year at Pacific, Hughes is majoring in business.
