2013 (Senior):
Tunnell ranked 10th in the MPSF with 10.20 assists per game. He finished the season with 934 total assists and 45 kills. He also added 49 total blocks, including eight solos.
2012 (Junior):
Tunnell had another great season as the Tigers setter finishing with an MPSF seventh best 10.15 assists per game to total 1035 for the season. At the net, he tallied 71 total blocks, including 10 solos. Tunnell also added 28 kills to hit .327, while adding eight service aces. Academically, Tunnell was recognized after the season with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors.
2011 (Sophomore):
In his second season as the Tigers starting setter, Tunnell recorded a team-high 998 assists in 28 starts. He finished the season with a .441 setting percentage. He also provided a spark on the defensive side of the net with 61 blocks including four solos. Tunnel served up four aces for the Tigers leading to 55.5 points.
2010 (Freshman):
Taking over the starting setting job in his first year at Pacific, Tunnell played in all but one match throughout the year as he saw action in 29 matches and 80 games. Running Pacific’s offense, Patrick posted a team best 840 assists while averaging 10.5 assists per game. Offensively, Tunnell added 30 kills on 57 attempts while also serving up 13 aces. On the other side of the ball, the freshman setter tallied 36 blocks and 81 digs for the Tigers defensively.
High School:
Patrick attended Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Ariz. During high school he lettered in golf and volleyball during all four years, and two years in basketball. He earned SA Southern MVP in 2008 and 2009. He was also Southern Arizona Player of the year in 2008 and 2009. For 2007, 2008, 2009 he was named All-Arizona. Patrick earned Salpointe Athlete of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
Personal:
Patrick Tunnell was born in Wichita, Kan. He is the son of Monica Malone and Jeff Tunnell. Patrick has five older siblings, Kathleen, Christine, Maureen, John, and Scott. At Pacific, Tunnell is an English major. Off the volleyball court he enjoys table tennis, reading, and writing.
