Biography

Junior (2010-11):
Ward earned First Team All-MPSF honors in the 200 Breast and Second Team honors in the 200 IM. He claimed third place in the 200 Breast at the 2011 MPSF Championships, clocking in at 2:04.93. Ward took third in the 200 IM (1:59.92), fourth in the 100 Breast (1:02.23), and fifth in the 200 Breast (2:13.64) in the Tri Meet on Oct. 30. He finished second in the 400 IM against Stanford on Jan. 8, touching the wall at 4:16.48. Ward had his best meet of the season in the Tri Meet on Jan. 22, earning first place in the 200 Breast (2:09.56), second place in the 100 Breast (59.79), and third place in the 400 IM (4:11.08). He won the 200 IM against Cal Poly on Jan. 28 with a time of 1:57.12.

Diablo Valley JC (2008-10):
Ward attended Diablo Valley Junior College in Pleasant Hill, Calif., where he swam for the Vikings. He earned his team’s Coaches’ Award in 2009 and the Outstanding Performance Award in 2010.

Campolindo HS (‘08):
Ward prepped at Campolindo High School in Moraga, Calif., where he swam for the Cougars.

Personal:
Ward was born in San Leandro, Calif., and is the son of Andrew and Deborah Ward. He has two younger sisters, Andrea and Emily. Ward is pursuing a degree in geology and enjoys spending his free time hiking, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
