Biography

2011-12 (Freshman):
In his first season at Pacific, Cunha provided depth in the butterfly events for the Tigers. He had his best showing of the season against Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz when he recorded a pair of top-10 finishes, placing eighth in the 200 Fly and ninth in the 100 Fly. He set his season best times in the butterfly events at the Arena Invitational, setting times of 2:03.51 in the 200 Fly and 54.31 in the 100 Fly. Those marks ranked seventh and 10th on the team, respectively.

High School:
Cunha attended Granite Bay High School in Granite Bay, Calif. He led the Grizzlies to section championships in 2009 and 2011 as well as four consecutive league titles. Cunha served as his team’s captain and was voted Most Inspirational. He was also a First Team All-League selection in water polo.

Personal:
Cunha was born in Carmichael, Calif., and is the son of Paul and Carol Cunha. He has one older sister, Catherine. Cunha is pursuing a degree in engineering.
