2012-13(Sophomore):
Burkard took 23rd in the 100 Breast at the 2013 MPSFChampionships, clocking in at 57.72. He also placed 30th in the 200Breast (2:07.25), nearly earning a spot in the finals session. Hetook fifth in the 50 Free (1:00.62) at the Pacific Invite and ninthin the 100 Breast (58.39) at the UNLV Winter Invite. Academically,Burkard earned MPSF All-Academic honors.

2011-12(Freshman):
In his first season at Pacific, Burkard provided depth inthe breastroke events for the Tigers. His best outing of the yearcame against Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz when he collected atrio of top-10 finishes, placing seventh in the 200 Breast, eighthin the 200 IM and ninth in the 100 Breast. He added an eighth placeshowing in the 200 Breast against conference members Seattle U andCSU Bakersfield. At the 2012 MPSF Championships, Burkard came in17th in the 100 Breast with a time of 57.27 while his mark of2:05.82 was good for 19th in the 200 Breast. The respective timesranked second and third on the team.

HighSchool:
Burkard prepped at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisc., wherehe earned four letters in swimming. He was an All-America selectionin the 200 IM as a senior with a personal record of 1:54.13. Healso set a record in the 100 Breast with a time of 57.74. Burkardfinished third at the state meet in the 100 Breast and fourth inthe 200 IM. He was his team’s MVP in both 2009 and 2011, andcaptained his team as a senior.

Personal:
Burkard was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is the son of Alan andLauri Burkard. He has an older sister, Jessica, and a youngersister, Samantha. Burkard’s hobbies include swimming,ultimate frisbee, and disc golf. He is pursuing a degree inmechanical engineering.
