Michael Wong enters his thirdseason with Pacific Swimming as the program's assistant coach. Hisprimary focus will be with the Tiger’s mid-distance and IMswimmers as well as recruiting coordinator.

Wong came to Stockton after servingas an assistant coach at USC for the 2011-12 season. He helpedguide the Trojans' women's team to a third place finish while themen placed seventh at the 2012 NCAA Swimming and DivingChampionships. The two squads combined for four individual nationaltitles and three second place finishes. He also worked with theTrojan Swim Club, assisting the staff with all aspects of on-deckcoaching while directing the annual Los Angeles Invitational swimmeet.

He spent the 2010-11 season as theinterim head coach of Pomona-Pitzer after acting as the program'sassistant coach the year prior. Under his tutelage, the team setfive new school records while one swimmer earned All-Americahonors. Wong also coordinated the program's recruiting efforts.

Wong began coaching as an assistantat Pasadena City College  for the 2008-09 season before takingover the Claremont High School swimming program in 2010. He led theschool's boys' team to the league championship while the girls'team placed 11th at the CIF Swimming Championships.

He graduated with his bachelorsdegree in American Studies from Occidental in 2009. He earned fourletters for the Tigers in the pool and was the team's captain as asenior. Wong earned his masters degree in physical education fromAzusa Pacific in January 2012.
