Biography
Senior (2015-16):
A preseason All-WCC selection, Matt struggled in his final collegiate season as he posted one top-5 finish in 10 tournaments played. Marked as an individual for the Pacific Invitational, Matt came up with his best finish of the season as the senior took fourth place at the Tigers'' home tournament. In total, Matt averaged 74.76 strokes and led the Tigers in scoring once.
Junior (2014-15):
Matt played in all 12 tournaments for the Tigers while coming up with six top-20 finishes, two top-10 finishes, and two top-5 finishes. He would post a 73.58 stroke average, third-best on the team. During the season, Matt posted a pair of third place finishes, the first of which came to open the season at the Saint Mary''s Invitational with the second coming one tournament later at the Nick Watney Invitational.
Sophomore (2013-14):
In his first year at Pacific, Lee qualified for nine tournaments for the Tigers as he finished the season with a 76.46 stroke average. Lee''s best finish in his first year came at the Arizona Intercollegiate where he finished +11 with a 224. His best 18 came at the same tournament as he closed the event with an even-par, 71.
Prior to Pacific (Cal State East Bay):
Matt played one season at Cal State East Bay prior to transferring to Pacific. Throughout his freshman season, Lee made his mark on the CCAA as he earned the conference''s golfer of the week on Mar. 5 for his play at the 2013 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. At the Shootout, Matt picked up his first collegiate victory as he was the only golfer to shoot under par for the tournament at -1, 215. Lee finished three strokes ahead of the second place finisher posting rounds of 70-71-74 in cold, windy conditions at Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo.
High School:
A 2012 graduate of Horizon High School, Lee played both golf and basketball. He was voted Most Improved Golfer in 2010 and was named MVP for both the golf and basketball teams as a senior.
Personal:
A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., Matt Lee is the son of Terri and Jim Lee. He has one older sister, Jennifer. In his second year at Pacific, Matt is majoring in kinesiology.
