Andy Moren

Andy Moren is in his fourth season as an Assistant Coach at the University of the Pacific, beginning in the 2021-22 season.

"I am extremely excited to have Andy in the Orange & Black" said head coach John Cook. "He is an experienced professional who will bring a calm demeanor to our staff and program, which will assist our athletes in remaining focused both on the course and in the classroom."

Moren played a pivotal role in guiding the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament berth at the Urbana Regional since the 2012-13 season. In the 2024-25 season, the Tigers won two team tournament titles (2024 The Goat and the Leadership & Golf Collegiate Championship) and six top three finishes.

Moren, who has served as head coach of the men's golf team at the Academy of Art University (ART U) in San Francisco in 2013, was named the PacWest Coach of the Year after guiding the Urban Knights to their first PacWest title and a NCAA Division II postseason appearance as a team in 2021.

Guiding his group to unprecedented heights, four Urban Knights were named to an All-PacWest team following their accomplishments in 2021. Additionally, Julius Kreutzer, a three-time PacWest Golfer of the Week, would be recognized as the 2021 PacWest Golfer of the Year, while Moren earned PacWest Coach of the Year, both of which were firsts in program history. These achievements marked the second consecutive year and the second time in program history that the Urban Knights had four All-PacWest selections, but it was the first time in program history that they had two First Team selections (second time with two Second Team awards).

During Moren's tenure, ART U saw significant progress. Under his guidance, the men's golf team received seven All-PacWest awards and three consecutive Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team honors (2015-18) in addition to 19 individual Academic All-PacWest honors. Furthermore, Oskar Frick was crowned the individual champion at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational, named to the All-Region in 2015-2016 and later qualified for the NCAA West Regional Tournament under Moren's watch, all three of which were firsts for ART U.

Before joining the Urban Knights, Moren was part of a coaching staff that sent Cal State Stanislaus to the NCAA Division II West Regionals in Dupont, Wash. Battling until the end, the Warriors finished one-under par as a team, only seven strokes out of the third spot that would have sent them to the finals. Ultimately, he graduated from Stanislaus with a degree in Political Science and recently earned a Master of Arts in Kinesiology from Saint Mary's College with a concentration in Sports Management.

While with the Warriors, Moren won four tournaments from 2005 to 2008, including the Stanislaus Buzzini Invitational twice (2005 and 2007), the Dennis Rose Invitational (2007), and the Drake Invitational (2008). Additionally, he was named to the GCAA All-Region Team three times (2005, 2007, 2008), the All-CCAA First Team in all four years, earned the Phil Mickelson NCAA Division II Freshman of the Year Award in 2005 and was named to the GCAA All-American Team for Division II in 2005 as well. As a professional golfer, Moren won the Golden State Tour at Morgan Run Country Club in 2011.
