Biography
2017-18 (Senior):
Played in seven events and posted an average score of 76.09. Carded 50 birdies on the season. His best result of the season came at the Geiberger Invitational where he finished tied for 26th. Placed tied for 37th at the West Coast Conference Championship. Had three rounds at or below par on the season. Posted his lowest score of the year, a 70, twice once in the opening round of the season at the Ram Master''s Invitational and again in the final round of the season at the WCC Championships.
2016-17 (Junior):
In his third year with the Tigers, Anthony made an appearance in six tournaments including Pacific''s best team finish of the season at the Del Walker Intercollegiate tournament. He improved his stroke average to 74.67 and has his best round of golf at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational shooting par.
2015-16 (Sophomore):
Anthony played in a pair of tournaments as a sophomore before a shoulder injury cut his season short. The sophomore would place 34th at the Pacific Invitational in late October marking his best finish of the season.
2014-15 (Freshman):
Anthony made an immediate impact for the Tigers in his first season as he played in nine of 12 tournaments in his freshman season. He made his debut at the opening tournament of the season when the Tigers played in Saint Mary''s Invitational while posting his top finish at the Nick Watney Invitational a week later taking 11th place. In all, Anthony posted a 75.33 stroke average and took home one top-20 finish.
High School:
Madrid came to Pacific after prepping just down the road at St. Mary''s High School. A standout for the Rams, Madrid was awarded the Stockton Record''s Charles Washington Award in 2014, an award given to an area graduating senior who exhibited excellence athletically, academically, and in the community. Madrid earned the award after winning seven tournaments throughout his high school career while leading the Rams to 12 team victories in his four seasons. Off the course, Anthony created the "Anthony Madrid Golf-A-Thon" in 2011 to raise funds for the Eddie Guardado Foundation, which assists families dealing with autism. He also volunteered as a coach with The First Tee organization, teaching golf and the program''s nine-core values to kids.
