Biography

2017 (Sophomore):
Started seven games and played in all 19 for the Tigers her sophomore year. Posted a pair of goals and two assists in Pacific''s 4-0 win over Sacred Heart (Sept. 11). Assisted in seven of the Orange and Black''s games including a career-high three-assist performance against UMass Lowell (Sept. 10). Finished the year with three goals and a team-best 11 assists. Was named to the America East All-Academic and  NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

2016 (Freshman):
As a freshman, Rutherford put up a Pacific-record 14 assists as well as six goals, good for 26 points. She had a seven-game point streak during which she scored 17 points, recording multiple assists four times in that span. Rutherford was named to the America East All-Rookie Team as well for her efforts, which included eight multi-point games.  The South African had three goals and two assists in the final five games of the season.  That total includes a goal and an assist against New Hampshire in the first round of the America East tournament.

Personal:
Rutherford is a native of Cape Town, South Africa.  Before coming to Pacific, Rutherford was the captain of the Boland U18A Hockey Team as well as a part of the U18A South African Team for both indoor and outdoor hockey.  She was named the Rhenish All-Round Sportswoman of the Year in 2015 and was the School Field Hockey Best Player in 2013 and 2014.  Rutherford was also the winner of the Deputy Head President''s Award in 2014 and was given full academic honors every year from 2001-15.
