In four years with the Tigers, Arobio logged 98.2 innings in 70 appearances with a 9-6 record and a 3.47 ERA. With 17 saves in his career, Arobio holds Pacific''s career record. He was drafted twice during his tenure with the Tigers. His junior year he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 27th round and by the Chicago White Sox his senior year in the 24th round.
Senior (2017):
Arobio posted a 3.86 ERA in 46.0 innings pitched in his senior season, recording seven saves and owning a 4-4 record. He struck out 44 on the season, an average of 9.43 per nine innings. He did not allow a run in 14 of 24 appearances and threw multiple innings on 16 occasions in 2017. Arobio inherited 14 runners total on eight occasions and stranded nine. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 24th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
Summer (2016):
After being drafted by the Boston Red Sox, Arobio suited up for the Lodi Crushers. He struck out ten batters in his six games, giving up only two earned runs in that time.
Junior (2016):
Arobio once again led the Tigers in saves, picking up six in his 14 appearances to move to second all-time in saves and just one away from tying for first in Pacific history. Arobio ended the year with a three-inning, five-strikeout save against Pepperdine, setting new career bests in both innings pitched in a game and strikeouts. Arobio''s 14.02 K/9 led the Tigers by almost four K/9. His 27 strikeouts were a new career high in a season despite Arobio pitching the fewest innings in any of his three years as a Tiger.
Summer (2015):
Arobio struck out 37 in 30.1 IP over the summer while playing for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League. The Mallards finished second in the South Division, going 23-13 in the regular season before falling to the Kenosha Kingfish in the South Division finals. Arobio had a 3.26 ERA with the Mallards.
Sophomore (2015):
Taking over the closing role for the Tigers in his second season, Arobio put together one of the best seasons for a reliever in program history as he finished his season with eight saves, a number which ranks second most all-time. Despite limited opportunities, he finished tied for the WCC lead with six saves in conference games, saving six of 10 wins for the Tigers. For the year, Arobio saw action in 21 contests while throwing 30.0 innings. He struck out 24 while posting a 3.30 ERA. He picked up his first career start against Seattle on May 11 in a midweek contest as he went 3.0 innings while allowing one hit and striking out two.
Summer (2014):
Arobio spent the summer playing for the Matsu Miners in the Alaska Baseball League. One of the top closers in the league, Arobio was named to the league''s all-star game after leading the way with six saves in 14 appearances. In 19.0 innings, he struck out 11 while posting a 2-1 record and a 2.37 ERA.
2014 (Freshman):
Taking over the backend of the bullpen with his fellow freshmen, Arobio was used as both a setup man and a closer in his first season at Pacific. Throwing 22.1 innings, Arobio tallied 24 strikeouts for a team best 9.7 K/9 average. He finished the season with a 3.63 ERA while posting a 2-1 record in 22 appearances while also adding one save. His first career save came against San Diego on Apr. 26 as he shut down a potential ninth inning rally by the Toreros in a 5-1 Tiger victory.
High School:
Arobio graduated from Burlingame High School in 2013 where he was a three-year letterwinner for the Panthers. As a senior, Arobio earned All-Peninsula Bay League honors after helping lead Burlingame to the second round of the CCS Division II playoffs. A defensive ace at short, Vince committed just five errors at short in his final season while turning nine double plays. Offensively, he hit .260 with 11 RBI and 19 runs scored. On the basepaths, Arobio led the team with 22 stolen bases in just 25 attempts. Additionally, he finished the year with eight saves as the team''s closer while posting 24 strikeouts in just 20.2 innings pitched. Prior to his senior year, Arobio established himself as one of the top players in the are earning all-county honors to go along with his all-league awards.
