Biography

Junior (2014):
Hager primarily took the ball on Friday nights for the Tigers throughout his junior season as he finished the year 4-5 with a 4.19 ERA in 13 starts. Over the year, Hager pitched 73.0 innings while striking out 44 and walking just 19. He threw five quality starts on the season, going 2-1 with a pair of no-decisions in those outings. His two best outings came at home as he shutdown Utah Valley for 8.0 innings en route to a 5-2 win on Mar. 1 and San Diego for 7.0 innings in a 4-3 win on April 26.

Sophomore (2013):
Appeared in 22 games while making seven starts. He picked up a 2-5 record and grabbed one save while posting a 4.65 ERA. He was second on the team with 71.2 innings pitched in which he struck out 37. Hager recorded his first collegiate save on Apr. 5 against Long Beach State as he threw three scoreless and hitless innings to help the Tigers to the 3-1 victory. One of his longest outings of his career came in the final game of the season as he pitched 7.2 innings in a 7-4 win over Cal Poly on May 25 while in the Tigers'' 7-4 win.

Freshman (2012):
Led the Tigers pitching staff in wins and fewest walks allowed. Started 12 games while appearing in six out of the bullpen. Allowed three earned runs or fewer in 12 of 18 appearances. Collected his first collegiate win in his second start, going eight innings and allowing one earned run on four hits at Gonzaga (March 18). Tossed seven innings of shutout ball for a victory over San Jose State (April 7), allowing just three hits. Tossed eight shutout innings in a win over UC Davis, walking none and allowing eight hits (April 15). Tossed a complete game against Cal State Northridge, allowing three hits and no earned runs for his sixth win of the season on May 26. Won his last three starts of the season, allowing four earned runs in 24 innings (1.50 ERA in that span). Faced 101 consecutive batters without issuing a walk from March 25 to April 22.

High School:
A 2011 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Stockton, Hager was a first team all-league and first team all-area selection while being named third team all-state as a senior for Pete Pijl’s Rams. Went 8-4 his senior campaign with a 1.70 ERA. Posted a .397 batting average as a junior while driving in 32 runs. Hager finished his second varsity season with a .776 slugging percentage after blasting a team-best six home runs in 2010. First Team All-Tri City League honors and second team all-area as a junior. Hager was named to the Rawlings Nor-Cal World Series all-star team and all-tournament team in 2010
