Biography

2016 (Senior):
As a senior, Pujade set a Pacific record with 16 wins and had the third-lowest goals against average in program history at 1.77.  Pujade is one of two Tigers ever to record multiple seasons with a GAA under two, joining Lori FitzGerald.  This year, Pujade recorded four shutouts, blanking Bryant, LIU Brooklyn, Stanford, and Cal.  She was named to the America East All-Tournament Team after stopping 22 of 27 shots in three games, leading the Tigers to the championship game.  Her career 2.06 GAA is third all-time, while her 310 career saves are seventh.

2015 (Junior):
Pujade was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team for her stunning play in goal during a year that saw her start every game for the Tigers.  Pujade had a .764 save percentage and 1.81 GAA, moving her to fourth all-time for Pacific in GAA in a single season.  Pujade''s five shutouts were the third most by any Tiger in a single season.  The Catalan shut out Bryant to start the season, going on to blank Saint Louis, UC Davis, and Central Michigan before a 1-0 shutout victory of No. 12 Stanford that helped Pacific earn a share of the division title.

2014 (Sophomore):
A Second Team All-NorPac selection, Pujade started 19 of 20 games in the cage for the Tigers, logging 1212:14 of a possible 1410:46 and recording six victories. She posted a shutout over Central Michigan (Sept. 18) making three saves. Pujade recorded double-digit saves in four contests, as she turned away 10 shots by Albany (Sept. 12), added 12 saves at Stanford (Oct. 3) and set a career-high with 13 saves against Iowa (Sept. 14), which she later tied with 13 saves against Stanford (Oct. 17). Pujade also earned the Julie Nagel Extraordinary Teammate award, given to the NorPac sophomore that most demonstrates their genuine love for the sport and academic institution. The award was established in 2005 by Appalachian State University in memory of former Mountaineer Julie Nagel.

2013 (Freshman):
Pujade started the season opener against Michigan State on September 1, making ten saves before missing the rest of the season to injury.

High School:
Pujade is a 2010 graduate of Institut Matadepera in Matadepera, Spain.

Pujade has 9 years of club experience with Matdepera 88 Hoquei (2004-2008) and Atletic Terrassa Hockey Club (2008-2013). She was named team MVP for Terrassa in 2012 as her team took home the Spanish Field Hockey Championship. In 2010 and 2011 the team took the runner up position. In addition, she has experience with the Spanish and Catalan national teams in 2010 and 2011, earning a national championship with the Catalan squad and 2nd place in the 4 Nations European Tournament with Team Spain.

Personal:
Laura is the daughter of Xavi Pujade Villar and Gloria Busqueta Segura. She has a younger brother, Oriol, and a younger sister, Ester. Oriol and Ester play club field hockey for Egara Hoquei in Terrassa, Spain. In addition, Ester also has experience with the Catalan national team. When she is not playing field hockey, Laura enjoys reading, going out with friends and nature. A natural sciences exploratory major at Pacific, Laura intends to pursue a career in medicine.
