High School:
A 2014 graduate of Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado, Thaxton led the Raiders to a runner-up finish in the 2014 Colorado State Championships after winning the Continental League title with a perfect 11-0 recrod. As a senior, he was named both all-league and all-state after leading the Raider offense with a .452 average while posting nine home runs and 32 RBI. He totaled 17 extra-base hits on the year to record an impressive 1.508 OPS. As a junior Thaxton posted a .417 batting average for the Raiders while tallying a .517 on-base percentage. In his trips to the plate, Thaxton produced five doubles and three home runs while driving in 18 RBI and scoring 15 runs in just 19 games played. A year prior at Las Animas High School, the then sophomore tallied an impressive .529 average while picking up six doubles, six triples and two home runs to drive in 34 runs in his first season of varsity baseball.
