Biography

Senior (2016):
Wagner ended his career 11th all-time in games played for Pacific and fifth all-time in starts as he picked up 51 starts in his 52 games.  Wagner was third on the team with a career-high 35 runs this year and put together a power surge previously unheard of by the third baseman.  Wagner had 14 doubles and six homers after entering the year with 17 doubles and two homers in his previous three games.  He also set career-highs in batting average (.264), OBP (.327), and slugging (.440).  He had an 11-game hitting streak during WCC play with nine extra-base hits during that stretch.

Summer (2015):
Wagner worked as a utility player for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, appearing in 34 of the team''s 40 games.

Junior (2015):
Proving to be one of the Tigers'' most versatile players, Wagner saw time at 3B, SS, and LF during his junior campaign. In total, he played in 49 games while starting 47 contests. Overall, Wagner hit .250 on the year as he posted 44 hits in 176 at bats while coming up with five doubles, one triple, and one home run. He finished second on the team with 24 RBI while adding 18 runs scored. Wagner produced 10 multi-hit games on the year including three three-hit endeavors and a four-hit game in which he went a perfect 4-for-4 at Sacramento State on April 14.

Sophomore (2014):
J.J. established himself as Pacific''s starting third baseman in 2014, playing in 52 contests while starting 49. A reliable glove, Wagner committed just five errors at the hot corner, going over half the year before committing his first mistake. Offensively, J.J. posted 33 hits including six extra-base hits while knocking in 11 RBI and scoring 15 runs. 

Freshman (2013):
He started 35 of 39 contests as a freshman primarily playing third base and shortstop. He finished the year hitting .200 with 24 hits in 120 at bats while recording seven doubles, one triple, and one home run. He added seven RBI and 20 runs scored and finished with a team-high six sacrifice bunts. He recorded his first hit, run, and RBI in the Tigers'' 8-1 win over San Jose State on Feb. 17. In a two game series against Gonzaga (Feb. 23-24) he went 4-for-8 with five runs scored and a pair of doubles. His first three hit effort came against Nevada on Mar. 5 when he went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Against UC Riverside on April 12, Wagner hit his first collegiate home run while driving in four of the Tigers'' five runs on the day. 

High School:
Wagner was a first team all-league selection in the Tri-City Athletic League at St. Mary''s High School in Stockton. The infielder hit .347 as a senior with a .444 on-base percentage, 33 hits and 29 runs batted in. Clubbed 13 extra base hits while helping coach Peter Pijl''s Rams to a 27-6 record and the T-Cal championship. High school teammates with Tiger teammate Gio Brusa.
