Biography

2022 (Senior) 
Played in 40 games with 36 starts. HIt .257 with 35 hits and 13 extra base hits. Lea drove in 24 runs, good for third on the team. Lea was hit by 18 pitches during the season, second most in the conference. Had seven multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games. Had back-to-back games with three RBI against UC Davis (4/12) and Oklahoma (4/14). Behind the plate, Lea was elite. He led the Tigers in chances (272) and only committed two errors for a .993 fielding percentage. Base runners did not have much luck against Lea either, as he threw out 22 of a potential 31 base stealers. 

2021 (Junior)
Played in 42 games behind the plate for the Tigers in the 2021 season. Lea recorded a batting average of .248, an OPS of .828, slugging percentage of .483, and an on-base-percentage of .345. Lea racked up 37 hits with 6 doubles, 4 triples, 7 home runs, 30 runs batted in, 72 total bases and 11 walks with 11 hit-by-pitches. Lea placed 6th in conference in triples (6). Defensively, landed a fielding percentage of .981 with 158 catches, 140 put-outs only committing 3 errors behind the dish. Finished top 10 in conference for caught stealing by (5).
Marked a season high 3 hits, including 1 triple and 4 runs batted in against Pepperdine (05/28), 1 double and 1 homerun against Pepperdine (05/27) and 10 putouts against San Francisco (04/30).

2020 (Sophomore)
Hit .302 on the season, appearing in 15 of the Tigers' 17 games with 13 starts. Ranked in the top five on the team with 16 hits, eight RBIs, two stolen bases, two home runs and 27 total bases. Caught six runners stealing from behind the plate and recorded 88 putouts to a team-low two errors for a .980 fielding percentage. 

2019 (Freshman)
Lea appeared in 19 games in 2019, making his collegiate debut in a 7-2 home win over Chicago State (2/16). The Pleasanton native saw 37 at-bats as a freshman, resulting in five hits, six runs and five RBIs. Lea's first collegiate home run came as a two-run homer in the sixth inning of an 11-3 home win over Sacramento State (2/21). 

High School
Lea was a two-time Second Team All-East Bay (Valley) League honoree at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, accumulating a .390 batting average with 62 hits and 46 RBIs throughout his three years at the varsity level. Lea led the Falcons to back-to-back league titles in 2017 and 2018 and was a recipient of the Fallon Leadership Award.
