Biography

Senior (2014):
Cory medically redshirted the 2014 season as he recovered from Tommy John surgery.

Junior (2013):
Popham was the Tigers'' best pitcher in 2013 before sustaining an elbow injury midway through the year that required Tommy John surgery. Prior to the injury, he posted a 2-1 record with a 2.14 ERA in six starts. He was the lone pitcher to record a complete game as he threw a 9.0 inning, five-hit, shutout against UNLV on Feb. 22 for his first win as a Tiger. In three of his six starts he went 7.0+ innings while also not allowing an earned run in three contests.

Prior To Pacific (Glendale):
All-Southern California and All Western State Conference selection at Glendale Community College, Cory Popham was named WSC Pitcher of the Year in 2012. With a 7-3 record, 3.28 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 79.2 innings pitched, Popham helped coach Chris Cicuto''s Vaqueros to a 30-12 record last season. Also earned GCC''s Male Athlete of the Year award.

High School
A First team All-Alpha League, first team all-area and All-CIF selection as a senior in 2009 at Maranatha High School in Pasedena. Turned in a 1.34 ERA with 111 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched as a senior while hitting .363 at the plate. As a junior, earned Second Team All-CIF and All-Alpha League honors after striking out 49 in 52 innings with a 3.37 ERA and hitting .400.
