2022 (Sophomore) 
Appeared in 39 games for the Tigers, starting all but three of those games. Had a .258 batting average with 15 RBI and 10 extra-base hits. Had two hits with a home run and three RBI against Northern Colorado (2/20). Had a two home run game against Oral Roberts (3/5) while adding three hits. Both numbers were season highs for Canales. Drove in a career-high three RBI against CSU Bakersfield (3/13). 

2021 (Freshman) 
Played 7 games in the infield for the Tigers in the 2021 season. Recorded a 2.14 batting average, OPS of .607, slugging percentage of .357 and an on-base-percentage of .250. Tallied 3 hits, 2 doubles, 5 runs batted in, 5 total bases and 1 hit-by-pitch. Defensively, landed a .968 fielding percentage with 31 catches and 28 putouts. Marked a season high of 2 hits including 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in, 1 assist, and 10 putouts against Long Beach State (04/18).

High School
Was a three-year varsity letterman with the Lions, including leading Junipero Serra to an 11-1 start in 2020... Ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in the state of California by Perfect Game, Canales finished his final high school season with a .307 batting average, .950 fielding percentage and .460 on-base percentage...Primarily playing third base and shortstop, Canales earned multiple awards during his time with the Lions, including being named a Perfect Game Preseason All-American from 2017-2020...Additionally, he was a 2019 Boras Classic South & State Champion and a 2018 USA Baseball NTIS Gold Medalist.

Personal
Originally born in Palm Springs, Calif., Canales calls the city of Orange home, having attended Junipero Serra High School in nearby San Juan Capistrano...In the classroom, Canales impressed by earning a spot on the High Principal's Honor Roll all four years at Junipero Serra and was a member of the Trinity League All-Academic Team.
