Nick Sanzeri joined the Pacific staff as an assistant coach/pitching coach in August 2023.
Sanzeri has been training pitchers all over the world. He has more than 11 years of high-level coaching experience, working primarily with collegiate and professional players. He has developed more than 75 NCAA Division I pitchers, 16 major league baseball draft picks and has personally worked with more than 20 MLB/MiLB players including Tyson Ross, D.J. Snelten, Ryan Sherriff and Kanoa Pagan. He founded his private training company, Sanzeri Baseball, in 2012.
Sanzeri started his coaching career as the head varsity coach at San Mateo High in 2013 at the age of 21, undoubtedly one of the youngest head coaches in the country. He was also a head coach for Lamorinda Baseball Club from 2013 to 2016. In 2015, he was an assistant coach for the College of San Mateo, helping the team earn a super-regional berth in the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs.
From 2018 to 2023, Sanzeri was the pitching coach at Mission College in Santa Clara. During that five-year run, Mission consistently averaged the most pitchers moving to Division I schools in the conference. He achieved this by using unique methods to make data actionable for his pitchers. Behind a strong pitching staff, Mission won two conference championship and had several CCCAA regional berths, including a super-regional appearance. This past season, Mission tied for the Coast South Conference title and advance to the postseason.
Sanzeri earned his bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2016. He is TPI and Rapsodo certified.
