A four-year standout for the Tigers at third-base, Walker capped his stellar career in 2010 with a selection to the All-Big West Second Team. The selection was his second-straight all-conference award after making the second team as a junior as well. As a senior, Walker put together one of the most successful seasons in Pacific program history, leading the Tigers in nearly every offensive power category. For the season, Walker paced the team with 12 home runs, 52 RBI, 123 total bases and a torrid .552 slugging percentage. Walker's 52 runs batted in for the season were sixth best among all Big West Conference hitters and seventh most in program history. Additionally his .327 batting average closed out 2010 as the Tigers' fourth best on the team, while his 73 hits were the third highest. His final season was the culmination of a historically good career as he produced 136 career RBI, just shy of the program’s career record of 144. He remains second all-time in RBI and still sits sixth in runs scored (124), fifth in hits (215), fourth in home runs (23), and third in total bases (327).
After his stellar career and senior season, Walker was selected in the 14th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. He spent four seasons in the Brewers organization where he played for Helena, Wisconsin, Brevard County, and Huntsville. In four seasons, Walker produced a .264 batting average throughout the Brewers system while tagging 47 home runs and driving in 229 RBI including going for 12 home runs and 41 RBI in AA with Huntsville.
In addition to his minor league career, Walker took his talents to the international stage as part of Australia’s national team. Walker holds dual citizenship as his mother Anne was born and raised in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, where he lived between the ages of one and three. Walker starred for the Aussies during the 2013 World Baseball Classic as he led the team in hitting going 5-for-11 (.455) in three games. Â
Walker returned back home in 2014 to Pacific to complete his degree and rejoined the Tigers’ program as an undergraduate assistant. He has picked up where he left off as he has taken on the task of helping the Tigers’ corner infielders and hitters as part of the coaching staff.
