Joe Slater

Joe Slater spent two years at the University of San Francisco before joining Pacific in 2015-16. Slater brings to the Tigers an array of experience as a player and a coach. A former college and professional player, Slater played at Sonoma State from 2005-09 where he was part of the 2008 team that was ranked No. 1 in Division II and went 52-15, en route to the school's first ever College World Series berth. As a senior, he led the 2009 team to the Western Regional Finals while batting .346, with 13 doubles and 23 RBI and a .995 fielding percentage. Slater was signed in 2010 to play for the Cologne Cardinals in the German Bundesliga. He played for the first two seasons and then took over as manager in his third year.

After finishing his playing career, Slater coached infield and hitting at the College of Marin during which time the Mariners won back-to-back Bay Valley Conference championships and went to the Super Regionals for the first time in 15 years. He then joined the Dons coaching staff as the Director of Operations and Camps.

"Joe Slater brings in West Coast Conference experience and is a well-rounded coach that can help in every facet of the game," said Neu. "His experience will be a huge asset to our program."
