Ben Buechner

Ben Buechner returns to the staff for his third season as assistant coach at Pacific after 10 years of coaching at Santa Rosa Junior College, including nine as an assistant and one as the interim head coach in 2019.

At Santa Rosa, Ben was responsible for recruiting, coaching third base, and assisting hitters, as well as player development for outfielders, infielders, and catchers. While at SRJC, they made the playoffs nine of the nine years (10th year was 2020 shortened season, where SRJC finished ranked #1 in the state). During that 10-year span, SRJC a .707 winning percentage and a .686 winning percentage in Big 8 Conference play, the best in the conference during that span. 

During the 2019 season, Ben was promoted to interim head coach as Santa Rosa went 38-11 overall to finish second in the Big 8 Conference. Advancing to the second round of playoffs, Noah Rennard and Devin Kirby were both named All-Americans under Buechner. Along with infielder development in 2019, Ben assisted with the development and recruitment of Ethan Payne, who was awarded the ABCA Gold Glove Catcher's Award.

While at SRJC, Ben was a part of three Big 8 Conference titles and helped guide three teams to the CCCAA Final Four, winning the state championship in 2016 and finishing as the state runner up in 2017. During his tenure, nine student athletes were selected as All-Americans, as well as thirteen players reaching the professional ranks in the United States. Overall, he saw over 95 student-athletes continued to playing at the four-year level following their time with Buechner at SRJC.
 
Along with coaching at Santa Rosa Junior College, Ben was also an adjunct instructor in the Kinesiology department and an assistant to the athletic director. 

Earning his undergrad degree from Sonoma State, Buechner completed his Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in 2013. Buechner is a 2006 graduate of Point Arena High School and went on to play at Menlo College in 2007 and SRJC in 2010.
 
Born and raised in Gualala, California, Ben and his wife Stephanie Buechner reside in Stockton, California. Ben and Stephanie have two daughters, Jaelyn Marie (6) and Baylor Ayla (2), and they welcomed their new son this past Summer in June, Payton William.
