Biography

2020 (Senior)
Started all 17 games for the Tigers in 2020, hitting .321 with 17 hits (fourth on the team), seven RBIs, 14 runs, two triples and a home run. Also ranked fifth on the team with a .528 slugging percentage. 

2019 (Junior)
Appeared in 35 games for the Tigers, recording 25 starts. Finished with 12 RBIs, 17 hits and 22 total bases. Was second on the team with three stolen bases and tied for fourth with five doubles. Tallied an .875 fielding percentage in his junior season.

2018 (Sophomore) 
Hayes made 36 starts for the Tigers in his sophomore campaign with 27 hits, 17 RBI, and 15 runs scored. Recorded career highs in hits (3), RBIs (2) and runs (2). Hit back-to-back home runs against Portland (4/28-29). In game two against the Pilots (4/28), Hayes notched a career-high in extra base hits in a game (2) with a double and a home run. 

2017 (Freshman) 
Appeared in 16 games in his first year with the Tigers, recording five hits and scoring two runs.

High School
Hayes played four years of varsity baseball for Carmel High School in the Mission Trail Athletic League, where he led the Padres to three league championships and two section championship appearances. Hayes hit .437 as a sophomore, .493 as a junior and .505 as a senior, earning All-league and All-Monterey County selections in each of those three years.  He was twice named the Monterey County MVP as well as twice making the Small School All-State Team.
