This is a Business Trip
Junior guard Sam Pettinger and strength & conditioning coach Tony Sandoval discuss the duality of the excursion, and how Pacific maintains peak condition on the road.
"Since Tuesday, we've done lots of site seeing and enjoying the culture here in France. But since we play our first game tomorrow (Friday), today we are mentally focusing on what we came here for, which is our games. So we're about to go on a jog around Paris to make sure we're physically prepared for tomorrow. We're super excited because we've been waiting a long time to play games again, and play some different teams from around here."

"On an extended trip like this, we obviously don't have access to our specially-equipped training facilities back on campus. So we are using our creativity to simulate game week here in what we're calling Gym 595, which is my hotel room. It's probably not ideal, but when you're on the road, with limited equipment, the worst thing you can do is going from all the eating and site-seeing right into playing a game without having your body prepared."
"My role on this trip is to prevent that. We're trying to get the body ready for competition. So right now, half the girls are on a run, and the others are rotating through an upper body circuit. We what to get the heart-rates up, get the metabolic systems going. The goal is to keep physical demand on the body so they can keep their performing at their peaks despite being away from home."
