Biography

2019-20 (Redshirt Senior)
Competed in five of Pacific's seven tournaments with a 75.73 stroke average. Carded a season-best 220 at the Saint Mary's Invitational for a top-60 finish.

2018-19 (Redshirt Junior)
After sitting out all of the 2017-18 season due to an ACL injury, Burnes found himself back in the Pacific lineup for 10 of Pacific's 11 events. His best tournament came at the end of the season during the West Coast Conference Championship, finishing 23rd with a 3-over 219. Burnes carded five rounds in the 60s, with the lowest being at the Amer Ari Invite shooting 5-under 67.

2017-18 (Junior)
Did not compete.

2016-17 (Sophomore)
Led the Tigers with the best finish of the season, tying for sixth overall at the Del Walker Intercollegiate. He also closed out the season with the lowest 18-hole score, shooting five under par at the West Coast Conference Championships and carding a 67, tied for ninth place. Burnes participated in seven of the Tigers' 10 tournaments and averaged a 74.4 stroke average for the 2016-17 campaign. 

2015-16 (Freshman)
Proved to be one of the Tigers' most reliable golfers in his first year in the collegiate ranks, finishing the year with a 73.80 stroke average while playing in all 10 tournaments for Pacific. Earned a 13th-place finish at The Goodwin in March. Also led Pacific in scoring in three of the team's late tournaments.

High School
Played four years of varsity golf for Centennial High School in Bakersfield. Was a fixture on the All-Southwest Yosemite League Awards list, earning SYL Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman and Player of the Year as a junior. Played in two CIF Central Section Regionals and won the Central Section Individual Championship as a senior, earning Varsity All-Area Boys Golfer of the Year. On the amateur scene, won the Kern Country Junior Amateur Championship, the Stockdale CC Junior Club Championship and made the cut at the Callaway Junior World Championships at Torrey Pines all during his junior year. Academically, Burnes was a member of the California Scholastic Federation every semester of his high school career.
