Sophomore (2016):
Johnson cemented himself as Pacific''s Tuesday starter this year, starting seven games. He twice went six innings, a career high in innings, as he helped Pacific defeat Fresno State and Sacramento State on back-to-back Tuesdays with quality starts. When pitching in relief, Johnson had a 2.45 ERA. His first career win came in a relief appearance when he gave up no runs in one inning against Washington. He struck out three batters in both of his six-inning starts, a career best.
Summer (2015):
Johnson pitched for the Medford Rogues in the West Coast League this summer. He started 4 games and appeared in 7, going 0-2.
Redshirt-Freshman (2015):
Pitching for the first time in two seasons, Johnson worked primarily out of the bullpen for the Tigers as he pitched in 13 games on the year. Leading the team with a 2.21 ERA, Johnson threw 20.1 innings for the Tigers giving up just five earned runs. He struckout eight and posted a .267 batting average against.
Freshman (2014):
Taylor redshirted his first year as he continued to recover from Tommy John surgery.
High School:
Was a standout at St/ Mary''s High School just down the road from Pacific. As a junior, he led the Rams to a 27-6 overall record and their third consecutive T-CAL championship. At the plate he hit .320 in 26 games played. On the mound, Johnson went 5-1 and picked up one save in 10 appearances while boasting a 1.29 ERA. In 38 innings, he struck out 27 batters. For his efforts he was picked all-league second team and was named to the North Team in the North South Showcase game at the conclusion of the season. Johnson did not play his senior season due to Tommy John surgery.
