Senior (2016):
Jenkins would allow more than three earned runs just three times in his 16 appearances this year for the Tigers as he served as a rock in the rotation. The senior picked up his first complete game since 2014 when he defeated Saint Mary''s on April 10. He allowed two runs in his nine innings of work in that game. Jenkins also picked up his first two career saves, coming on March 4 against Northern Colorado and on March 25 against San Francisco. In the final game of the year, Jenkins picked up his 15th career win to put him 13th all-time for Pacific. His 223 career strikeouts rank 11th all-time as Jenkins struck out at least three men in 11 of his 12 starts. He had the best ERA of any Tiger starter with a mark of 3.27.
Summer (2015):
Jenkins went 2-2 in 7 starts in the Cape Cod League this summer. He had a 3.27 ERA for the Brewster Whitecaps.
Junior (2015):
Working his way back from surgery early in the season, Jenkins struggled to find the form that made him one of the most dominant pitchers in the WCC. Despite the early season woes, Jenkins eventually rounded back into form as he pitched his way back into an All-WCC Honorable Mention honor by seasons end. Overall, he finished with a team best five wins (5-6) while posting a 6.06 ERA in 17 appearances. In conference play, Jenkins came up with a 5-2 record while posting a 3.71 ERA in six starts. He struck out 37 in 43.2 innings pitched while combining for one shutout, 2-0 over Portland on May 15.
Summer (2014):
Jake played in the Northwoods League for the Mankato Moondogs alongside of teammate Tyler Sullivan. On a limited pitchcount after his long sophomore season, Jenkins went 2-3 in six starts including throwing a complete game. He pitched 34.1 innings and posted a 3.14 ERA while striking out 33.
Sophomore (2014):
Turning himself into the ace of Pacific''s pitching staff, Jenkins was nearly unbeatable down the stretch as he finished the conference season 6-1 overall with a 1.71 ERA en route to All-WCC First Team honors. Overall, Jenkins went 6-3 on the year with a team-best 2.55 ERA and 74 strike outs which ranked third among all WCC pitchers. He finished the season with a string of high-quality starts as he went seven-plus innings in six of his final seven starts while producing three complete games and a pair of shutouts. He earned WCC Rawlings Baseball Pitcher of the Week on April 21 for his work on the mound as he threw his second shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Saint Mary''s. The workhorse of Pacific''s starting staff, Jenkins thew 91.2 innings in his second season. His inning count was bolstered over the final month of the season when he threw 43 of a possible 45 innings.
Freshman (2013):
In his first season Jenkins pitched in 14 games while starting nine contests. He finished the year 1-9 overall with a 6.66 ERA in 51.1 innings pitched. His best outing came against UC Irvine on Apr. 21 as he threw 8.0 complete inning while giving up just four hits and one run in a hard luck, 1-0, loss to the Anteaters. He picked up his first collegiate win against UC Davis on May 11 as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up eight hits and three runs in the Tigers'' 5-4 victory over the Aggies.
Personal:
Jenkins is majoring in Sports Management with a minor in Pre-Law. He hopes to eventually start a legal career in his home state of Colorado after his baseball career is over. Jenkins is the son of Jeff and Jackie and has two brothers; Josh and Jonah.
