Freshman (2016):
Del Bonta-Smith was first on the team in appearances as a freshman, playing in 22 games out of the bullpen.  He would go 4-3 with a 5.01 ERA.  His first career win came after he pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in relief on March 4 against Northern Colorado.  His first save came with a perfect inning of relief on March 12 against Washington.  Del Bonta-Smith struck out 25 men in his 32.1 innings, including a five-strikeout performance against Fresno State on April 12.

High School:
Del Bonta-Smith led the Soquel Knights to four straight California Coastal League titles while in high school.  He was named to First Team All-League three times and was the Pitcher of the Year as a senior when he went 8-1 with a 1.17 ERA and 4 complete games.  Del Bonta-Smith struck out 55 in 53.2 innings that year while also hitting .305 with 24 RBI at the plate.  Del Bonta-Smith was also a Scholar Athlete and played basketball and football for Soquel.

Personal:
Del Bonta-Smith has one younger brother: Ciaran, age 16, who also plays baseball.  Del Bonta-Smith''s father Eric played college baseball.  His mother is Eireann and he comes from Santa Cruz originally.  Del Bonta-Smith will major in business here at Pacific.
