A local product from Saint Mary''s High School, Sprague turned in a stellar senior season as he helped lead the Rams to a runner-up finish in the Division I Sac-Joaquin Section Championships. For the year, he produced a .283 batting average while tallying 17 extra-base hits. He drove in 23 RBI and scored 19 runs in 34 games in 2014. He finished his junior season as one of the top run producers in Tri-City Athletic League driving in a league-best 35 RBI while scoring 17 runs on .248 hitting. He was named The Record''s All-Area Second Team and to the Athletics Area Code Team for the Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif. last summer. He was selected in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Chicago White Sox.
