2014 (Senior):
Shepard took on an increased innings after injuries slimmed the rotation''s depth. Pitching in the most innings of her career as a senior (156.0 IP) , Shepard compiled a 7-14 record with a 3.54 ERA and 89 strikeouts, a career high. Shepard was named WCC Player of the Week following a standout performance at the Cal State Northridge tournament. She pitched 22.2 innings that week, surrendering just two earned runs and recording 12 strikeouts, including a complete game victory over Cal State Northridge on March 22nd, and 8.2 innings pitched against Bakersfield on March 23 in a game decided by the international tiebreaker protocol. For the week, Shepard posted a 1-2 record with a 0.62 ERA.
2013 (Junior):
Taking the circle for the third season, Tori finished the 2013 season with six wins as she went 6-6 with a 3.00 ERA. Overall, Shepard threw the second-most innings for the Tigers on the year as she made 20 appearances including 17 starts and earning three shutouts and throwing eight complete games. She posted 48 strikeouts on the season in 91.0 innings pitched. Against No. 2 Arizona State, Tori tied a career-high for innings pitched at 8.0 as she just missed knocking off the Sun Devils in a 5-4 loss in which she gave up just three earned runs.
2012 (Sophomore):
For the second straight season, Shepard was named to the conference''s second team for her work in the circle for the Tigers. The sophomore pitcher established herself among the conference''s best once again as she became Pacific''s workhorse during her second season of action. Appearing in 35 contests for Pacific, Shepard led the way both as a starter and a finisher as the sophomore ended her season with a 13-5 overall record (6-1 in Big West games) while also picking up a program-record seven saves, a number which ranked No. 4 in the country. Shepard''s 13 wins ranked as the fourth most in the Big West in 2012 while her 3.12 ERA and .247 batting average against both ranked sixth. During the year, Shepard took home one weekly pitching honor as the sophomore was named the Big West''s best on Mar. 26 after going 2-0 with one save in Tempe, Ariz. during the ASU Diamond Devil Invitational.
2011 (Freshman):
Taking to the circle as Pacific''s No. 2 starter, Tori established herself among the Big West''s best as she earned second team all-conference honors in her first season of collegiate softball. Among the top freshman in the conference in 2011, Shepard finished the season at 14-9 with a 3.20 ERA after appearing in 32 contests. Mature well above her years in the circle, Shepard was called upon to take on some of the nation''s best throughout the year including picking up the Tigers'' first victory over a ranked opponent on the year when she defeated No. 13 Oregon, 4-2, on Feb. 26. Additionally, the freshman earned the victory in relief against No. 23 Fresno State on April 5 when the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs, 5-4, in 11 innings. For the year, Shepard picked up one pitcher of the week award as she earned the honor on April 4, the first pitcher of the week award for the Tigers.
High School:
As a pitcher from Lodi High School, in Lodi, Calif., Shepard helped lead the Flames to an overall record of 21-5 as a senior during the 2010 season. A three-time San Joaquin Athletic Association MVP, Shepard put together an impressive high school resume as she posted a 37-12 overall record with a sub-0.50 ERA. Additionally, Shepard proved to be an overpowering arm in the circle for the Flames as she as amassed 609 strikeouts in three seasons, including once striking out 23 batters in a single game. In her last three seasons, Shepard earned All-Area honors and All-San Joaquin Athletic Association honors including taking home the league''s Most Valuable Player award as a sophomore. In addition to her play at the high school level, Shepard also pitched for the Runnin'' Rebels club team after having played for the Lodi Extreme, a team that she led to their only Babe Ruth World Series Championship in 2008.
Personal:
Born in Stockton, Calif., Tori Shepard is the daughter of Robert and Angela Shepard. She has one brother, Bobby, who played football at Fresno State. In her fourth year at Pacific, Tori is majoring in sports pedagogy.
