2014 (Sophomore):
Mortensen appeared in six games for the Tigers before missing the rest of the season due to injury. In the season lid-lifter, Mortensen pitched 5.1 innings in relief, surrendering just two hits and one earned run, earning the win at UC Davis. Carly made starts on Feb. 14 against Cal Poly and Feb. 21 against Boise State, dropping the decision in both contests. She sat out the reaminder of the season after shoulder surgery.
2013 (Freshman):
Seeing her first collegiate action in 2013, Carly was tasked with holding together a Tigers pitching staff for much of the season that was hampered by injury. In her first year of action, Mortensen appeared in a team-high 23 contests as she finished the season 4-4 with a 2.57 ERA, seventh-best in the Big West, in 79.0 innings pitched. Her .252 batting average against ranked as the best mark of all four Pacific pitchers and fifth among all Big West hurlers. Most impressively, Carly threw in 12 of the Tigers'' 15 games midway through the season as Pacific took on some of the best teams in the country. During the stretch, Mortensen allowed two hits or less in eight of her appearances.
High School:
Joining the Tigers from Valencia HS, Mortensen finished a stellar career with the Vikings in 2012 where she once teamed up with Pacific''s standouts Amy Moore and Megan Foglesong. The ace of the Vikings'' pitching staff, Mortensen finished her four years with an impressive 75-18 overall record in the circle. The 2009 Foothill League Co-Player of the Year and a four-time all-league and All-Santa Clarita Valley pitcher, Mortensen dominated opposing hitters throughout her career as she tallied 845 strikeouts. As a junior Mortensen posted a 16-3 overall record with a 0.86 ERA and 167 K''s before sitting out the end of the year due to injury. She came back in 2012 as a senior to post a 1.17 ERA while producing a career-best 315 strikeouts. Overall, Mortensen has led the Vikings to two league titles in four seasons.

Carly Mortensen was born in Valencia, Calif. and is the daughter of Lisa and Ron Mortensen. She has one older sibling, Cody. In her third year at Pacific, Carly is majoring in communications.
