2016 (Senior):
Anderson finished her Tiger career leading the team in hitting, putting up a .360/.448/.373 line in 48 games. In addition to leading the team in batting average and on-base percentage, Anderson led the Tigers in runs with 27 and walks with 23. Anderson was tied for the team lead with Cassidy Gustafson with nine stolen bases. She had a six-game hitting streak in the middle of the year. Despite batting leadoff all year, Anderson still managed 13 RBI, including three multi-RBI games. She was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and a CoSIDA Academic All-American. She was also a part of the WCC All-Academic Team and the All-WCC Second Team. Anderson tripled against North Florida early in the year for her only extra-base hit of the year.
2015 (Junior):
In her junior campaign, Anderson earned a second straight All-WCC honor. Anderson was a perfect 10-10 in stolen base attempts this season, leading the Tigers with a .382 on-base percentage. She was second in runs scored with 30 and amassed 16 multi-hit games, including a three-hit effort against UC Davis on April 21st. Coming on strong at the end of the season, she tripled in back-to-back games on April 21st and 25th and recorded hits in five of the last ten contests for the Tigers. Anderson''s four runs scored in a victory at Cal State Bakersfield on Feb. 21 matches a program high set by Paige Anderson in March of 2009. Anderson was an NFCA Scholar Athlete in 2015 in addition to an All-WCC academic team honoree. Her cumulative 3.90 GPA as a Social Sciences major was the third-highest mark of all honorees. The 2014 Catherine Harnack Academic Achievment Award winner continued her impressive work in the classroom in the 2014 fall semester to garner the plaudit.
2014 (Sophomore):
Anderson had a breakout sophomore campaign, seeing an increased role after injuries in the outfield. She picked up All-West Coast Conference Second Team honors as she hit .340 in WCC play, tallying 17 hits while swiping three stolen bases during the conference season. Overall, Anderson recorded 38 hits in 133 at-bats, including seven multi-hit games, setting the table at the top of the Pacific batting order. She contributed on the base paths, swiping eight bases in nine attempts. Her five single-game hits at Loyola Marymount on April 12 tied a program record and also set the WCC single-game record. Anderson, a social sciences major, earned a 3.86 GPA - amongst the highest in the conference in her first season of eligibility.
2013 (Freshman):
Finding time in a crowded outfield in her first season as a Tiger, Anderson showed flashes of brilliance in both the field and at the plate. Playing in 40 contests while earning 18 starts, Anderson finished the season hitting .300 as she posted 18 hits in 60 at bats while tallying three doubles and one triple. In addition to seeing time in right field, Anderson was the first runner off the bench for the Tigers as she scored 18 runs, fifth best on the team. Additionally, she was perfect on the base paths, stealing three bases in three attempts.
High School:
A speedster from Woodinville High School, Anderson played three seasons for the Falcons before graduating in 2012. Throughout her time at Woodinville HS, Anderson proved to be one of the top talents in the state of Washington as she earned numerous awards including All-State honors to go along with a pair of first team All-League selections. As a senior, Sara and the Falcons took home a state title after winning their third consecutive King County League title. As a junior, Anderson posted an impressive .596 batting average at the top of the lineup for the Falcons, giving her an opportunity to steal 22 bases while scoring 19 runs. The year prior, Anderson was just as impressive as the then-sophomore posted a .521 average and a .603 on-base percentage while scoring 27 runs and stealing 15 bases while earning All-Area honors. Academically, Anderson was at the top of her class as she has excelled in both the classroom and on the field.
Personal:
Sara Anderson was born in Edmonds, Wash. and is the daughter of Janie and Jon Anderson. She has one older brother, Miles. In her fourth year at Pacific, Sara is majoring in social science.
