Cross Country Set to Run in Pair of Meets This Weekend

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's and women's cross country program will divide and conquer into two different meets this weekend with one group staying local for the Saint Mary's Invitational on Friday and the other trekking south to the Riverside Invitational, hosted by UC Riverside on Saturday.

The Tigers opened the 2026 campaign at the USF Invitational at Golden Gate Park last week. Pacific saw some positives in its season-opening performance, looking to build on that to this week's competitions.

Senior Jett Davenport highlights the group of Tigers heading to Riverside, California. Davenport owns the best 8k time this year with a 24:44.59 at San Francisco. Freshman Braden Himley also showed his stride, finishing second amongst the Tigers behind Davenport at the USF Invitational.

On the women's side in the 6k, Pacific saw another newcomer take a step forward in sophomore Alexane Hunte leading the pack with a time of 22.27.94 last week. Hunte will run with eight other Tigers at the Riverside Invitational this week.

Shifting gears to Friday's competition at Saint Mary's, the Tigers will have a combined 13 runners make their mark in Northern California. Sophomore Keira Hampton and freshman Sean Muturi hope to have promising finishes after strong starts in the Bay when they take to the course on Friday.

Following this week, the Tigers next will compete in their home event in the Pacific Invitational, taking place on Oct. 2 at Micke Grove Golf Course.
