PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Pacific men's water polo 2026 campaign begins with a tour of the Ivy League as the team will face Fordham and Iona on Saturday from the campus of Brown University before traveling to Cambridge to face Harvard and MIT on the Crimson's campus on Sunday.

Despite being located on opposite coasts, Fordham and Pacific have become regular fixtures in the other's schedule, with this being the fifth straight years facing the Rams. Within those four prior meetings, the schools have split 2-2 and digging deeper are tied 1-1 when playing in Providence.

In last season's meeting, Borisz Kasa-Gal led the team with five goals in seven attempts, rounding out a weekend in which he scored 17 goals to open his collegiate career. The rising second year utility man enters this season much more decorated having earned Second Team All-WCC honors, WCC All-Freshman team honors, and a WCC Preseason Team nod. A win over Fordham would correct a two-game slide and give the season its tenth consecutive 1-0 start.

By contrast, where Fordham is a split series, the Tigers' fortunes against Iona have been complete in Pacific's favor. The team carries a 4-0 record against the Gaels going back to 2006, all in neutral pools, and all by double digit margins (average margin of victory of 12.3 goals). Kasa-Gal again a big factor in the most victory, netting five more goals while rising second year Brody Biedermann contributed three goals to the winning effort.

Moving over to Sunday, Pacific has enjoyed historical success versus Harvard, carrying a 9-1 record into the match and 2-0 in Harvard's home pool. Recent matches against the Crimson have been nail biters as the past three matches have all been decided by one goal, all won by Pacific, and the one Harvard win in 2023 was still an overtime affair. During last season's clash, it was rising second year Petar Popovic that paced the team with three goals while Kasa-Gal knocked in an additional two. In goal, rising second year Kiss Gergely converted 11 saves.

Rounding out the weekend, MIT and Pacific clash for the first time since 2018 and Pacific goes for a fifth win in five attempts. Matches between the two schools have not been close as the team has yet to concede more than five goals in a match while pouring on 20 or more goals in three of four meetings.

Due to the three-hour time difference on the east coast, two of Pacific's matches will be early morning affairs – taking on Fordham at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday and Harvard at 6 a.m. on Sunday. The remaining two are Iona on Saturday at 3 p.m. and MIT on Sunday at 10 a.m. All four matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
