SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Redshirt junior Zach Todd was named Rawlings West Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Todd, a native of Manteca, California, pitched six scoreless innings in Friday's 8-0 shutout victory over LMU, ultimately leading to a series sweep of the Lions last weekend at Klein Family Field. Todd joins Pepperdine's Tommy Scavone as this week's recipients of the WCC Co-Pitcher of the Week awards.

Todd collected his third consecutive quality start in league play and fourth overall, allowing just two hits with a career-high 11 strikeouts, including his 100th career strikeout of his college resume. Todd is up to a team-best 71 strikeouts with his 11-strikeout performance, marking the most strikeouts by a Tiger in a single game this season and the most since 13 strikeouts by Shelby Lackey on May 4, 2018.

More importantly, Todd helped the Tigers in preserving their first shutout of the season and first one of WCC play at home since a 2-0 win over Portland on April 30, 2017.
Looking at his season numbers, the right-handed pitcher owns a 3-2 record with a 3.71 earned run average in 63.0 innings. Todd's 71 strikeouts rank among the top 100 of collegiate pitchers and checks in at No. 5 on the WCC pitching leaderboard.

This is the first WCC weekly award of the season for Todd and second Pitcher of the Week accolade by a Tiger this season. Redshirt junior Garret Plata earned the honor on April 20 following a six-inning shutout performance against Santa Clara to clinch a sweep that weekend.

Todd and the Tigers continue their eight-game homestand against California at 6 p.m. on Tuesday from Klein Family Field before resuming the WCC schedule against San Diego on Friday. Pacific looks to earn their first victory over the Golden Bears since Feb. 22, 2021, and also looks for their first-ever win against an Atlantic Coast Conference team.
