SB Preview at OSU 2026

Softball Makes Rare Trip to Oregon State for Weekend Series

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Coming into the halfway point of the conference season, Pacific softball travels to Corvallis for the first time since 2007 to take on Oregon State Friday and Saturday at Kelly Field.

Dating back to that 2007 matchup, the Tigers (12-26, 0-6 WCC) are searching for the first program win over the Beavers (15-25, 3-3 WCC) in series history. Last season, Pacific dropped three games to OSU on the final weekend of the year.

This season, the team is once again paced by the efforts of redshirt senior Olivia Silvestre. The outfielder carries top-10 WCC marks in runs scored, doubles, walks, stolen bases, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. Her 14 doubles this season tie for the conference lead and nationally rank 16th – making her the second highest ranking WCC student athlete in the category since the NCAA began tracking the stat during the 2023 season.

Within the program, Silvestre has already made her second entry into the single-season doubles list and is projected to finish with 20 doubles, which would tie her for second all-time. The only two Tigers in program history to have reached the 20-double mark in a season: Nikki Armagost in 2013 (20) and Barbara Moody in 2002 (28).

The redshirt senior is also the conference leader in on-base percentage helped in large part by a penchant for getting hit by pitches. Already hit 14 times this season, she is on pace to tie for the school's single season record of 20 – set in 2011 by Nicole Matson. Nationally her 14 HBPs rank ninth.

On a team level, the Tigers offense is proficient in hitting the double and advancing runners via the sacrifice hit. The team is second in the conference in doubles with 55 and is 96th in the country, while ranking 7th in the nation in sacrifice hits and lead the conference with 34.

Defensively, Pacific has once again excelled at turning the double play. Last season the program turned 26 double plays, tied for the second most in team history and this season has turned 16 double plays – good for second in the WCC and 50th overall.

Due to forecasted weather conditions at Oregon State, the schedule has been altered from the originally scheduled three-game series. Friday will now be a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. with a second game 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one, while the series finale is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday as originally intended. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.
