STOCKTON, Calif. – On Monday afternoon, the West Coast Conference announced redshirt senior
Olivia Silvestre as its player of the week, capping a successful weekend for the program.
The redshirt senior played an instrumental part of all three wins against Santa Clara, highlighted by a three-run homer in game two that broke a tie game into a three-run Pacific lead. That homerun was just one of four extra base hits as she also doubled three times to bring her season total to 17, which moved her back into the top-10 in the nation for doubles (tied for eighth place). The San Ramon native also vaulted herself into the fourth place in the Pacific record book for career doubles, totaling 41 with seven games remaining.
Through all the loud contact, Silvestre was constantly on base as she hit .444 during the Santa Clara series (4-for-9) and walked twice. She also drove in four RBIs, all of which came in that game two win.
With the award, she became the first Tiger to earn WCC Player of the Week honors since
Rian Dirmeyer in 2022.
The Tigers have two conference series remaining in the season, one at LMU this coming Friday-Sunday and then the regular season finale against San Diego from May 1-3.
