El Macero Classic Champions

Bouchard, Tigers Capture El Macero Classic Wins

DAVIS, Calf. – For the first time in program history, the Pacific men's golf program was crowned team champion of the El Macero Classic, hosted by UC Davis at El Macero Country Club this weekend.

Carried by the first-place individual finish of sophomore Felix Bouchard, the Tigers (-3) led all three rounds of the tournament, clinching their second team title of the 2025-26 campaign. Pacific was the only school in the 19-team field to finish under par.

"What a week!" Pacific head coach John Cook said. "These guys battled so hard. With the elements, wind, rain, lightning delays, they played fantastic. It was a total team effort. Coach Moren and I are extremely proud of their efforts all week. We look to carry this momentum into the WCC tournament!"

The Tigers have won two team tournament championships in back-to-back seasons after winning the 2025 Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational during Homecoming Weekend from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11. Last season, Pacific won the 2024 The Goat and the Leadership & Golf Collegiate Championship.

This weekend's team win marks the first time the Tigers have won a tournament during the spring season since rejoining the West Coast Conference in 2014. Pacific had won the 2013 Big West Championships at The Country Club in Soboba Springs, California.

For Bouchard, his first place crowning serves as his second individual win this year.

"Felix put together a tremendous effort," Cook said. "Battling back from his wrist injury last fall, he has come a long way to get back to get his second victory this year!"

Bouchard previously championed the Tigers at this season's Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. The native of Montreal, Quebec finished the El Macero Classic with a seven-under par, including a 68 in the opening 18 holes, marking his third best round of the 2025-26 campaign. Despite the weather conditions, Bouchard held his ground to the very end, notching a tournament-best 13 birdies to seal the deal.

Since the inception of the El Macero Classic in 2014, this year's first-place finish by the Tigers is the best since last season's third-place finish. Pacific defeated five WCC schools along the way in Washington State, Saint Mary's, Seattle, San Francisco and Gonzaga.

The Tigers have three weeks to prepare for the West Coast Conference Championships, hosted by the conference at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3.
