Men’s Water Polo Hosts Third Annual Pacific Cup

STOCKTON, Calif. – Bringing in championship teams from across the country, the Pacific men's water polo program will host the Pacific Cup for the third consecutive year this weekend at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.

Pacific will host a field that features the 2025 National Champion and No. 1 ranked UCLA, No. 2 USC, No. 3 Stanford, No. 5 Fordham, No. 6 San Jose State, No. 7 UC Davis and the USA Youth National Team. The Tigers are among six collegiate teams that won a championship in 2025 after winning the West Coast Conference Regular Season title.

The bracketed tournament will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with USC facing Stanford. Pacific will take the pool Saturday at 1:45 p.m. when it goes up against WCC Tournament champion San Jose State.

A blind draw was held to determine the bracket for the tournament. Stanford won the inaugural tournament in 2024 and UCLA won last year.

The Tigers are expected to play seven of their top eight goal scorers from 2025. It includes leading scorer Apostolos Georgaras who netted 73 goals in 23 games and was the 2025 Freshman of the Year and All-Conference First-Team selection.

All-Conference Second-Team honorees Borisz Kasa-Gal and Ori Buzaglo were second and third on the team in scoring with 57 and 34 goals, respectively, and are expected to compete. They were part of a Pacific program that finished 15-8 overall and 5-1 in conference in the fall.

The Pacific Cup will conclude Sunday with the championship game slated for 3 p.m. at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center. All games will be streamed on overnght.com. For more information including tickets and the schedule, visit the tournament central page.
