Tigers Take on Day One of Lamkin Invitational in Ninth Place

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf program opened the first two rounds on Monday in a tie for ninth place of the Lamkin Invitational, co-hosted by San Diego and San Diego State from San Diego Country Club.

The Tigers (+7) were evenly matched up with Cal Poly in their top nine team placement through 36 holes at seven-over par. Host San Diego led the way after the opening day with a 19-under-par.

Redshirt junior Deitrek Gill, a staple in Pacific's lineup all year round, stands as the only Tiger even par or better, coming in at even par for the course after two rounds. Gill is tied individually in the top quarter of the individual leaderboard, aided by an eagle on the eighth hole.

Senior Timothy Jung followed behind Gill in the individual ranking with a one-over par.

Senior Travis Robbie and sophomore Brasen Briones were next in their positioning at three-over par and four-over par respectively following Monday's action. Sophomore Felix Bouchard rounded out the scoring for the five-man lineup of the Tigers while redshirt senior Daniel Henely competed as an individual.

The Tigers will head back to the golf course for the final day of the Lamkin Invitational tomorrow with an expected 8 a.m. start time. Live scoring for the tournament can be found here.
