WTEN Recap vs. San Jose State 2026

Pacific Falls to San Jose State in Women’s Tennis

STOCKTON, Calif. – The women's tennis program showed a lot of fight and determination but could not pull out enough rallies to take down San Jose State, falling to the Spartans 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

The Tigers (0-5) started out doubles on the wrong end of two competitive matches. Junior Rayna Sugai and sophomore Maggie Hoe did defeat their opponents on doubles court two to give Pacific a shot at the doubles point but losses on courts one and three put the team in a comeback position.

Once in singles, junior Indiya McLeod battled back from a first set loss to take a point on court two from the Spartans (3-0) but straight set losses on courts one, five and six dashed the comeback bid.
On courts three and four, Sugai and freshman Pauline Lerminiaux took their opponents to a third set but came out on the wrong side of the battle. McLeod's triumph gave her her third win of the season and improved her record to 3-2 on court two.

The team is off until Sunday, February 15 when the program wraps up the five match homestand with a bout with Sacramento State at 10:30 a.m.
