WTEN Preview vs. San Jose State 2026

Homestand Continues for Women’s Tennis Versus San Jose State

STOCKTON, Calif. – Playing at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center for the fourth consecutive match, Pacific takes the court on Friday at 1 p.m. to face San Jose State.

Last season when these two teams met, it was junior Milena Maiorova who pulled out the Tigers' (0-4) lone point in a 4-1 loss to the Spartans (2-0). The junior played on singles court two and won in straight sets. Fellow junior Nahreen Cheam was locked in a tough third set when play was halted, looking to clinch a match in which she won set one.

Cheam was also part of a doubles pair that almost pulled out a win on doubles court two, leading 5-3 with junior Rayna Sugai when San Jose State earned the doubles point.

Junior Indiya McLeod has been the team's most consistent student-athlete racking up two wins on singles court two so far this season. Maiorova and Sugai also each have a win.

On the doubles courts, it's the duo of junior Leyanne Hirota and sophomore Maggie Hoe on court three who have provided the team's punch, going 2-2 so far this season.

In the all-time series, Pacific is 2-7 versus San Jose State with the last win coming in 2020 in Stockton.

The match will be streamed on Track Tennis.
